Ryan P. McGuire
Ryan McGuire is passionate in his pursuit of the best possible outcome for his clients in a wide-range of litigation and business objectives. In Ryan’s career as a litigator, for both plaintiffs and defendants, he has handled a variety of different kinds of cases in all stages of litigation, from pre-litigation settlement negotiation through trial. Ryan has successfully resolved matters involving personal injury claims, construction defect actions, contract disputes, employment disputes, commercial leasing issues, and commercial litigation. Ryan also is experienced in transactional matters, and has assisted with business formation and contract negotiation for a number of clients. Prior to joining the firm, Ryan practiced commercial litigation at a large, national law firm. Ryan also spent several years practicing in a well-regarded insurance defense firm in San Diego. His background has given him particularly well-developed insight into the impact that insurance coverage issues can have on civil litigation.
Ryan’s practice at Huguenin Kahn has involved representation of individuals and businesses in several different industries, including construction, real estate, retail, and agriculture. Ryan is also a member of
Huguenin Kahn’s cannabis practice group. Ryan’s personal background is heavily influenced by agricultural industry, as his family has been involved in vegetable and berry farming throughout California, Oregon, and Florida for decades. Ryan’s representation of cannabis-related clients has given
him substantial professional knowledge and experience with the cannabis industry, which provides an advantage when assisting clients navigate the specific and unique challenges that cannabis operators face on a day-to-day basis.
Ryan also loves the outdoors, and frequently spends his off-time enjoying the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. During the summer and fall months, Ryan spends his time hiking and camping in and around the national forests and state parks in the area. During the winter, he enjoys downhill skiing and snowshoeing.
